In this talk, I will share my journey of transitioning from 7 years of embedded software engineering experience in low-level C/C++ to embracing Rust in a commercial project.

I’ll explore the key contrasts and overlaps between the two languages, focusing on the practical challenges and learning curves I encountered during this transition. Furthermore, I’ll offer practical tips and strategies that were crucial in navigating this shift, aimed at helping others considering or currently making a similar transition.

Although details of my current project remain confidential, the focus will be on the language transition and the skills required to adapt to Rust’s paradigms in an embedded context.
